September is a big month in the Decker household, with two birthdays (Ron and Hayley) and our wedding anniversary - Ron and I just celebrated 31 years married (34 together)! In today’s world and with my line of work, I understand that this is no easy feat and it’s something we’ve had to work hard at….sometimes harder than others!
It’s also a time that I celebrate another year breast cancer free ~ 15 amazing years! You know long ago when I first received the cancer diagnosis (along with a simultaneous diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis less than 24 hours before!), it felt like my world as I knew it was coming to an end. And you know what, it was. Life as I had known it would never be the same. Going thru multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, and many MS drug reactions was definitely challenging, but the blessings that I found among the ashes of it all would be gifts that would forever change me.
Challenges and changes are a part of life; we all have them, though they may turn up in different ways – illness, financial devastation, addictions, death or divorce. No matter how they show up, I believe that these challenges are meant to help shape us into becoming who we really are. Embracing the challenge and the change can help you to overcome the overwhelming with gratitude and grace. I hope you find my “10 Tips to Coping with a Life Challenge” helpful.
Speaking of challenges, technology has been a HUGE challenge here of late with internet, email and computer issues … all at once! If you have tried to contact me recently and I have not replied, please accept my apologies and know that it’s because of one or more of these multiple issues. I appreciate your understanding and ask that you please connect again. We believe that the bulk of the problems are worked out now (keeping my fingers … and my toes crossed!).
